Web Mapping

Providing access to data sets trough specialized interactive mapping applications has been a critical research area in the past few years.  Many scientific and commercial web sites now provide mapping capabilities to their users via standard web browsers.  Our efforts in this area are focused on building custom designed user interfaces to access earth science data sets. Two different web-based mapping interfaces allow users to access research data sets that we maintain in our archives.  Our developed tools utilize custom build Java applets and provide easy-to-use interactive mapping interfaces.
